SERVICES
INDIVIDUAL PSYCHOLOGICAL THERAPY
I offer individual psychological therapy to adults presenting with a wide range of mental health concerns, including stress.

I have a particular interest in working with adults at mid-life, as well as older adults. I also specialise in working with individuals experiencing psychological challenges in the transition to parenthood - from pre-conception, during pregnancy, new parenthood and following loss.
DEPRESSION & ANXIETY
I am trained in the assessment and treatment of mental health problems, including mood and anxiety disorders, such as generalised anxiety, social anxiety, depression and bipolar disorder.

I employ evidence based therapeutic interventions such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness and Psychodynamic Therapy in supporting people through these challenges to their personal wellbeing.

PERINATAL MENTAL HEALTH & PARENTING DIFFICULTIES
"There is no such thing as a baby, there is a baby and someone." D. W. Winnicot.

My work with perinatal clients is guided by this principle elucidated by paediatrician and psychoanalyst D. W. Winnicot. I work with individuals experiencing emotional difficulties in the transition to parenthood (from pre-conception through to new parenthood), recognising that this is a complex transitional life stage which can bring about unexpected mental health and adjustment difficulties.

I trained and later worked at the Royal Women's Hospital as a psychologist and have conducted research into psychosocial assessment of risk factors for postnatal depression among women of refugee background.

Families come in many different permutations (and no two are alike!), I welcome all individuals contemplating parenthood, or embarking on the journey. Members of LGBTQI+ communities are most welcome in my practice.
STRESS & TRAUMA
Life stressors, difficult beginnings, and traumatic experiences can have an enormous impact on our functioning and interpersonal relating.

I work with clients to support them in processing stress and trauma they have experienced. In this regard, I work sensitively with clients, at their own pace, to support clients to recognise when these past experiences are taking hold, and to help them work through their automatic stress responses.

ADULTS AT MID-LIFE & OLDER ADULTS
The emergence or exacerbation of mental health difficulties at mid or later life in the face of life transitions, life pressures, and new stressors is not uncommon.

I have a special interest in working with adults at mid-life, and with older adults. I have worked intensively with this population in an inpatient setting and have conducted research looking at the factors impacting mental wellbeing at mid-life when faced with major life stressors.
